Tried the $60 clipper from Amazon and learned my lesson the hard way

Picked up some no-name clippers off Amazon for 60 bucks thinking I was being smart with money. After 3 haircuts the blade started pulling and left a client with a patchy mess behind one ear. Had to redo the whole thing with my Wahl Senior and lost the hour I charged for. Anyone else get burned by cheap gear that just isnt worth the headache?

Oh man, that's rough. Nothing like paying 60 bucks just to learn you should've spent it on a pizza instead.

Totally feel you on the "pizza lesson" thing. I had a similar deal with a cheap fishing rod that snapped on my first cast, just a total waste. What worked for me was hitting up a local gear swap meet instead, got a solid rod for half the price and a guy showed me how to set it up right. Sometimes paying a little extra for advice or a used quality item saves WAY more in the long run.
