Tried a new blade oil and thought it was snake oil

Switched to a clove based oil last week after my regular brand was out of stock, and my clipper ran way cooler through a full head of thick hair. Anyone else find a random swap that actually worked better than what you normally use?

Was your old oil silicone based or something else? I'm curious if the clove one gums up your clippers at all after a few uses.
