Spent $120 on a clipper sharpening service and got my tools back worse than I sent them

Dropped off three pairs of my Wahl clippers at a guy on Craigslist who said he did professional sharpening. He had good reviews so I figured it was fine. Got them back a week later and the blades were chattering on every guard, couldn't even get a clean fade line. Had to send them to a real shop and pay another $80 to fix his mistakes. Anyone else run into a sharpening hack who didn't know what they were doing?

lol that sucks man, I had almost the exact same thing happen last year. A local guy on Marketplace seemed legit but he just used some cheap rotary tool and burned the edges on my Andis blades. The chatter was so bad I couldnt even do a simple fade without leaving lines, had to end up buying a whole new set of blades. Now I just ship them straight to a known sharpener or do it myself with a cheap flat stone, not worth the risk with random dudes anymore.

Buying a whole new set" is exactly why I stopped trusting randoms with my tools.
