PSA: Stop using thinning shears on wet hair unless you want a nightmare
I was cutting a client's thick curly hair last Tuesday and decided to use my thinning shears on damp strands like I always do. Big mistake. The blades started tugging and left these jagged uneven chunks that looked terrible when it dried. Had to take off way more length than I wanted to fix it. Learned the hard way that thinning shears work way better on dry hair - less friction, more control. Anyone else make this mistake early on?

Learned that lesson the hard way myself, turned my sister's haircut into a mullet.

I don't know, I've been using thinning shears on damp hair for years and never had anything close to that happen. Maybe it depends on the quality of your shears or how wet the hair actually is. @keith_henderson sounds like he got a real mullet situation going, but a lot of people exaggerate these things. A little tugging here and there isn't the end of the world, and dry hair can get just as weird if your shears are dull or you're not holding them right. Seems like one bad experience has everyone acting like it's a rule.
