Overheard a barber shop manager say something that stuck with me

I was getting a haircut last Thursday and the manager was on the phone with a supplier. He said 'I waste more product in a month than I charge for a haircut.' That hit me because I've been dumping extra clipper oil and spray on for years without thinking. How do you guys keep from overusing products and wasting money?

Hold up. I think you're overthinking this pretty hard. Barbers are salesman too and that manager was probably just talking up his costs to justify a price increase later. A little extra oil or spray here and there is not going to break anyone. If you're really worried just pump the bottle one less time or use a spray that actually has a decent nozzle. But honestly this sounds like a made up problem to sell you something or make you feel bad.
