My clipper blade just seized up mid-fade yesterday afternoon

I was finishing a skin fade on a regular when my main clippers made a grinding noise and stopped cutting. I had to quickly grab my backup pair to finish the job, which was a bit embarrassing. Has anyone else had a Wahl Senior blade lock up like that, and is it worth trying to fix or just replace?

Why would you even think about fixing it? That grinding noise means it's totally done for. Trying to fix a seized blade is just a waste of your time and money. You already had to use your backup, which shows you can't rely on that pair anymore. Just buy a new blade, it's the only smart move. Keeping broken tools around will just mess up another cut later.

A backup blade that's also grinding? That's two blades gone in one job. I had a jigsaw seize up last month and it ruined a whole sheet of plywood. The cost of that wood was more than a new blade. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses.
