Just realized I've been holding my clippers wrong for three years

I was watching a video from a barber in Miami, and he kept his thumb on the side of the clipper body, not the back. I mean, I've always gripped it like a hammer. Tried his way on a skin fade yesterday and the control was way smoother, less strain on my wrist. Has anyone else had a basic grip technique they had to unlearn?

Gripping a torque wrench wrong can mess up your whole job.

Thought the same thing about my chef's knife. Always choked up on the handle for more power. Watched a pro use a pinch grip on the blade itself. Lets the knife do the work and gives you way better control for fine cuts. Totally changed how I prep vegetables now.
