Folks keep skipping the neck line when they rush a fade

I've seen three walk-ins this week alone from the same gym crowd in Austin, and every single one had a neck line that stopped an inch too high, like they were scared to go lower. The reason it matters is the whole back of the cut looks unfinished, and by day two it's growing out into a weird patchy strip that screams 'I did this myself.' I know because I tore down my barber chair last month and measured my own fades against photos from the last 40 cuts I did, and the ones where I followed the natural hairline down to the nape always look cleaner. Anyone else noticing this specific miss when you get clients from cheaper chains, or is it just the new trend?

Why do guys treat the neckline like it's a finish line they can quit at early? The neck is literally half the fade, you can't just stop when your arms get tired. That patchy strip you're talking about is the giveaway every time, it looks like a bowl cut grew out for a week. Cheap chain guys are probably just timed and rushed, so corners get cut where nobody's watching. If you wanna look sharp, follow the hair down to the nape, period.
