Clipper blade boiled in water trick saved my butt last Saturday

Had a dude come in with hair so thick and greasy my Wahl blade was dragging after one pass. I remembered a old barber once said boiling water for 3 minutes can clean out gunk in the blades. I tried it and the heat loosened all the buildup plus it cut smooth again. Has anyone else tried this or do you just use blade wash?

Did you rinse them after or just let the heat dry them off?
