Client told me my fades were 'patchy' - brutal but true

Had this one guy a few months back who was super particular. He straight up told me the blend from a 1 to a 2 looked patchy on the sides. I was pissed at first but then I looked in the mirror and he was right lol. I switched from just using clippers to doing more detail work with my trimmers and a blending shear. Took me about 3 weeks of practicing on my buddy to get it smooth. Anyone else had a customer call you out like that and it actually made you better?

Used to think you just needed good clippers and steady hands, but a customer pointing out my uneven blend made me go back and really study the step-by-step process. Totally changed my approach for the better.
