Bought a $400 clipper set on impulse, my $60 one works better

Last month I walked into a supply shop in Austin and talked myself into a fancy cordless set with all the attachments. Turned out the motor overheats after 30 minutes and the blade gap sits weird on thick hair. My old Wahl from barber school still cuts cleaner, so now the expensive one just sits in my drawer. Anyone else ever drop cash on gear that ended up being a downgrade?
