Am I the only one who stopped using clippers on the back of the neck and switched to a straight razor
I used to finish every taper with the trimmer and call it done. About 8 months ago a guy who has been cutting in Chicago for 20 years told me my fades looked soft at the neckline, and he was right. Now I do a straight razor lineup on the back of the neck on almost every cut, takes me about 90 extra seconds. The edges look sharper and clients actually notice, but I still get nervous on kids who move around. Anyone else make this switch, or do you stick with the trimmer?
Straight razor on the neck is a game changer. Those soft edges are the first thing people notice on a fresh cut. Kids wiggle too much though, trimmer for anyone under 10.
