My aunt in Tulsa swore my oven ran hot and I ignored her for 2 years
My aunt baked in my kitchen once back in 2023 and mentioned my oven runs about 25 degrees hot, but I brushed it off since my cookies always came out okay. Last week I finally hung a $7 oven thermometer in there and watched it hit 375 when I had it set to 350, which explains why my cakes kept doming and cracking on top. Has anyone else found their oven was off by that much, and did you just subtract the difference or pay someone to recalibrate it?
So your aunt was right the whole time and you just ignored free advice for two years? I'd say bake her a thank you cake, but maybe subtract 25 degrees first.
