Forgot to grease the pan on my grandmother's pound cake recipe last Sunday

Ended up chiseling half the cake out of the bundt pan with a butter knife and it still came out in crumbles, what do you do when old family recipes don't mention non-stick spray?

You've got get a blessing out of your grandma's baking, that's for sure. Next time, butter the pan real good (like with your fingers, not a spray) and then dust it with flour, tap out the extra. If you still want to use spray, get a real good one with flour in it, let the cake cool in the pan for exactly ten minutes, then turn it out.

Switched to the butter and flour method and never went back after ruining my mom's coffee cake. I soften a stick of butter and really get it into every nook and cranny of the pan with my fingers, then dump in a tablespoon of flour and tap it around until every butter spot is coated. Dump out the extra flour over the sink and it leaves a perfect thin coating. Let the cake cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes tops before flipping it. Comes out clean every time and the crust gets this nice little golden texture you don't get with spray.
