Burned my hand on a hot sheet pan at the diner counter

I was at Mel's Diner downtown last Saturday grabbing coffee. The baker there told me she lets her steel pans cool on a rack for 10 minutes before touching them. I used to yank them out of the oven bare-handed. Now I set a timer on my phone every time I bake. What's your dumbest kitchen injury?

My buddy Kyle did that same thing with a pizza stone but it was at home and he grabbed it to move it off the counter. Ended up with blisters on his palm and fingers for two weeks, had to eat everything with his left hand. He still jokes about how he thought oven mitts were just a suggestion.

Spent a whole shift with a bag of frozen peas shoved down my apron after grabbing a 500 degree pizza stone with my bare hand like I was invincible.
