Vent: Took me 5 tries to get sourdough starter right
Everyone says it's so simple but my first 4 batches molded over because I kept the lid too tight. Anybody else struggle way longer than the blogs suggest?

Used to think it was foolproof till I killed four starters myself.

Yeah you gotta really baby them in the beginning @danieljenkins. Too much water or not enough light will kill them fast. I learned the hard way that waiting until the soil dries out before watering again works way better than guessing. Also putting them in a spot with indirect light instead of direct sun helped me keep my last batch alive.
