Unpopular opinion: I spent 4 hours trying to get a mirror glaze smooth before realizing my room was just too cold

I was in my kitchen in Seattle last night, and the glaze kept setting up before I could even pour it. Has anyone else had to basically turn their workspace into a sauna for certain finishes?

Lol "secret final boss" is so true, @river183. I fought that humidity war last summer. What finally worked was blasting my AC an hour before and setting up a cheap box fan to push the cold air right over my work table. It made the glaze set so much faster without getting foggy. Still felt like I was baking but at least the cake wasn't sweating with me.
