Stopped by that new bakery on 4th Street and saw their proofing box setup

I mean, it was just a big clear plastic tub with a heating pad under it and a cheap thermometer stuck to the side. The baker said she keeps it at 78 degrees for her sourdough and it's way better than her old oven with the light on. It got me thinking about how simple some fixes can be. Anyone else use something like this at home or in a small shop?

Oh, that's the fancy setup? My cat's heated bed looks more professional. I guess if it works, it works, but I'd be nervous about that heating pad starting a small fire.

Yeah, it's funny how the best solutions are often the simplest ones. I see it all the time with people using old coolers as planters or a brick in a toilet tank to save water. We overcomplicate stuff when the cheap fix is right there.
