My grandma said to chill my pie dough in a metal bowl, I laughed at her for 2 years
I always used my grandma's old Pyrex and my crusts kept coming out tough and shrunken around the edges, so I figured it was just my oven running hot. She kept telling me to chill the dough in a metal bowl on the bottom shelf of my fridge in Cleveland, and I finally tried it 3 weeks ago and the crust held its shape for once. Does the metal actually pull heat out faster, or did I just get lucky with that batch?
