My $60 digital scale from the kitchen supply store was a game changer for my bread.
I used to measure flour by volume with cups, and my loaf results were all over the place. Last month I got a precise scale and started weighing everything in grams. The first batch of sandwich loaves I made after that came out perfectly even and soft. Has anyone else switched to weighing and noticed a big difference in consistency?

Honestly that sounds like a lot of extra fuss for no real gain. My grandma never weighed a thing in her life and made perfect bread every single time. Cups work just fine if you know how to use them properly, like fluffing the flour first. All these extra gadgets just make baking feel like a science project instead of something fun and simple.

Exactly, my mom bakes the same way and it's always amazing.

The real trick is knowing when your grandma's flour was ground from a different wheat than ours.
