Just hit batch number 500 this morning and I'm a little shook
I've been tracking my batches since I started baking from home last year, and apparently I've made 500 loaves of sourdough now. My kitchen counter has permanent flour stains that won't come out no matter what I scrub with. Has anyone else hit a random milestone like this and realized how much bread you actually go through?

Honestly, 500 loaves and your counters look like a crime scene.

The mess got so bad I finally switched to a big plastic tablecloth I found at a dollar store (it was meant for birthday parties but whatever). Just roll it up and shake it outside after, no scrubbing dough out of grout lines. Also started using a bench scraper to corral the flour before it goes everywhere, which helped a ton. Your counters will still look like a disaster zone but at least cleanup goes from a half-hour ordeal to five minutes.
