Oh man, that's a good point though - how much sugar actually needs to be in buttercream to be called buttercream? Did she give you any idea how much less sweet you'd have to make it before she'd call it good? I'm curious if there's a real line there or if it's just personal taste.

Too sweet? It's buttercream, what did she expect? Some people act like dessert is supposed to taste like a salad.
