A flour recall at the Portland market last week got me checking my bags

I was at the Portland Farmers Market on Saturday and a vendor told me about a big recall on a specific brand of all-purpose flour due to possible salmonella. I had just bought a bag of that same brand from my local store the day before. I went home and checked the lot number on my bag, and sure enough, it was part of the recall. I had to throw out the whole bag and clean my kitchen counters and tools really well. Has anyone else had to deal with a recall messing up their baking plans?

Ugh that's the worst kind of surprise. My baking plans are so fragile that a recall would almost be a welcome excuse for my usual disaster. Last time I tried to make bread it could have been recalled as a building material. Glad you caught it though, salmonella is no joke.

Wait, what kind of bread was it?

Right? Building material bread is too real, I feel you lee352. My last loaf could've doubled as a doorstop.
