Vent: My bank's new transfer screen takes 6 clicks, the old one took 2
My credit union rolled out a redesigned app 3 months ago and moving cash between my checking and savings now takes 6 taps instead of the 2 it used to take. They buried the transfer button inside a "Move Money" menu, then made me pick the accounts from a dropdown, then confirm on a second screen, then dismiss a promo for a rewards card I already have. Why do designers keep making simple tasks longer and calling it an upgrade?
I used to figure the extra steps were just part of getting new features, like you trade a little speed for more options. Then my own bank did the same thing and now I'm tapping through a dropdown and a confirm screen just to move twenty bucks. Turns out I'd rather have the fast old version back.
