Shoutout to the guy in Phoenix who said my HOA newsletter needed more 'fun' fonts
Back in March, a board member named Ray cornered me after our HOA meeting in Phoenix and handed me a printed copy of the newsletter covered in his own handwritten notes suggesting I swap our clean sans-serif for Papyrus and Comic Sans on the headers. I explained that the newsletter goes to 340 homes, many of them retirees who need readability, and he replied that 'serious fonts make people feel like they're reading a tax form.' Am I the odd one for thinking a plain, readable font isn't boring, or do other people actually enjoy getting their community updates in a font that looks like a scrapbook?
