Figured brush fonts on menus were a dumb fad, then a diner in Omaha proved me wrong
Back around 2016 I watched my cousin slap a brush script font on a church flyer and it looked like a wedding invite for a biker rally. So for years I told anyone who'd listen that brush fonts on menus were a mess nobody could read. Last month I ate at a diner in Omaha and the chalkboard specials used this thick marker style lettering that I could read from 15 feet away, even with my bad eye. I asked the owner and she said she'd switched after older folks kept asking what the specials said, and she saw way fewer repeat questions in the first week. Now I'm wondering if I was wrong the whole time and it was just that one bad flyer that ruined it for me. Has anyone else flipped on a font they used to hate once they saw it done well somewhere?
