Why does nobody talk about the new public library door in Springfield?
It took me 15 minutes to figure out you have to push the handle that clearly says 'pull' to get in. The sign is wrong and the push plate is on the opposite side. Has anyone else dealt with a door that fights you like this?

That bit about the push plate being on the opposite side is the real killer. I always figured a door was just a door, but one at my old gym was set up exactly like that. You'd think they'd fix it, but it stayed wrong for years. It teaches you to just stop looking at the signs and start shoving.

Noticed the same thing with public bathroom doors that have those confusing "push" and "pull" stickers. You see people hesitate every single time, their brain short-circuiting for a second. It feels like a tiny test of faith in basic design that we keep failing. Makes you wonder how many other small, daily things are just set up wrong on purpose or by accident.
