Vent: That moment I hit zero inches of clearance on a gate install

I was measuring out a new backyard gate for a client in Denver and everything lined up perfect on paper... right up until I went to hang it. Turns out the concrete footer they poured was a full 2 inches higher than what I was told. Ended up with exactly zero inches of clearance between the bottom of the gate and the ground, and it scraped every time you swung it open. Has anyone else run into a surprise measurement that just killed your whole afternoon?

Man, that's brutal. Idk why but it feels like this kind of thing happens all the time in every part of life. Like you do all the prep work and double check everything then something stupid and small just throws the whole thing off. It's almost like the universe enjoys testing us with those perfect measurements that end up being wrong. I've noticed it with everything from fixing a cabinet to trying to plan a simple road trip. It's like the one variable you were told was solid always turns out to be the one that bites you.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I spent three hours measuring a wall for a shelf, cut the board perfectly, and then realized I forgot to account for the baseboard. The shelf still sits in my garage to this day.
