Unpopular opinion: The worst part of my kitchen remodel was a single cabinet door hinge

I spent three hours trying to figure out why the door wouldn't close flush, only to realize the hinge was designed for a completely different thickness of wood. The instructions were just a picture with no words, which was zero help. Has anyone else found modern hardware instructions to be totally useless?

Modern hardware instructions" are usually just a QR code now, which is somehow worse lol.

Used to love the idea of a QR code for a full manual. Then my internet was out and I had a box of hinges and no clue. A paper sheet with one clear diagram beats a link that might be dead in five years. It turned me right around on the whole thing.

Those picture-only instructions are the worst. Always check the hinge packaging for the wood thickness spec before you even start.
