Rant: the thermostat in my building has one knob for both heat and AC and no labels
Came home Tuesday to a 62 degree apartment because I turned the dial left trying to warm the place up, and left is apparently the AC side. My landlord says it works fine and has been that way for 11 years, which honestly explains a lot about my electric bill. How am I supposed to guess which way is hot without a single arrow or color on the thing?

Tape a tiny arrow on it after you figure out which way is heat.
