Question about those terrible angled parking spaces at the mall on Route 9

I went to the Westfield mall last weekend and tried parking in those weird angled spaces near the food court. First I pulled in forward and my door almost hit the car next to me. Then I backed in and the angle was so tight I couldn't even open my trunk. I compared it to the regular straight spaces on the other side and those worked fine no issues. Who thought this layout was a good idea? Has anyone else dealt with these nightmare spots at that same mall?

Oh man, those angled spots are the worst lol. My friend tried one near the food court last month and she literally had to climb out the passenger side because her door was wedged against this giant SUV next to her. Then she tried backing out but some guy in a pickup was right on her bumper so she just sat there for like five minutes waiting. The regular straight spots are totally fine over on the other side by the movie theater I always park there now and never have issues. I swear whoever designed that lot must have been parking a Smart car or something.

Actually @fiona_lewis37 I think those spots are technically called diagonal parking not angled, at least that's what my dad calls them lol. But yeah I get what you're saying about them being a nightmare. I mean the ones by the food court are especially bad because they're like five degrees off from where they should be. Maybe it's just me but I've noticed the lines are painted way too close together compared to the straight spots by the theater. I measured once with my foot and the diagonal ones are like a foot narrower. No wonder your friend had to climb out, that's ridiculous.
