PSA: Gas station EV chargers vs. home Level 2 setups are night and day different

I had to use a ChargePoint station at a Shell in Tucson last week and it took 45 min to get 30 miles of range. My home JuiceBox 40 does that in like 10 min flat. Whoever designed those slow public units to be the main option for road trips needs to go back to drawing board.

My ChargePoint in Flagstaff gave me 18 miles in an hour last winter. That's not even enough to get to the next station up the hill. Home Level 2 is just a different world, it's like comparing a garden hose to a fire truck...

Have you ever actually tried topping off at home overnight with a 120v outlet though, @fiona_nelson51? That garden hose comparison is kinda harsh because even 18 miles per hour in winter is way faster than a standard wall plug gives you. I think people expect too much from public Level 2 when it's really meant for parking lots, not fast fill ups.
