Just spent $40 on a 'smart' kitchen faucet that's anything but smart
I got it because the ad said it had a touch sensor to turn on and off. The sensor only works if your hands are bone dry, so after washing something, you have to grab the dirty handle anyway. It also turns on randomly if a fly lands on it. I feel like I paid extra for a feature that makes my life harder. Has anyone else bought a 'smart' home thing that was just plain dumb?

Okay but the fly thing is kind of funny. Is it really that big of a deal to touch a handle?

Saw a study once that said public restroom handles can have more germs than a toilet seat. Flies land on garbage and worse, then touch everything. It's not just dirt, it's actual germs that make people sick. So yeah, touching that handle after a fly was on it is a pretty big deal for a lot of us.
