Update: I picked a 6 foot wide kitchen island over a 4 foot one and now I can barely reach my own sink
When we redid our kitchen last spring, my wife and I went back and forth on the island size for two weeks. She wanted the 4 foot so there was more walk space, I pushed for the 6 foot because I figured more counter space was always better. Well, we went with mine, and now the sink sits dead center, which means I have to lean across 3 feet of quartz just to rinse a plate. Our contractor, Dale, warned me about this exact thing on day one and I brushed him off. So for anyone who has lived with a big island, did you ever get used to the reach, or did you end up moving the sink to the edge like I'm about to?
