That $45 ergonomic mouse totally backfired on me in Austin
Bought one of those vertical mice last spring thinking my wrist pain would vanish, but the thumb button placement was so bad I kept accidentally hitting it during design reviews. Took me 3 weeks to realize the old $15 basic mouse was actually fine, I just needed a wrist rest. Anyone else blow cash on fancy gear that made their workflow worse, or am I the only one who fell for the hype?
You tried a vertical mouse and it messed with your flow? Man, that thumb button thing gets me every time with those fancy designs. I ended up in the same boat, spent good money on a trackball that had me clicking all wrong for two weeks. The truth is, most of us don't need gimmicks. A basic mouse and a decent wrist rest, like you figured out, usually does the trick. My rule now is to test any gear for a full week before I decide it's better, and I keep the old stuff around just in case. Way cheaper to fix your setup than to keep buying new gadgets.
