Stair tread dimensions off by an inch, caught it after the drywall went up
Condos in Denver, 4 units. My carpenter laid out the stair stringers using the old drawings. The real slab was an inch tighter. We got the drywall on before anyone measured the actual rise. Thought it felt steep walking up. Pulled out the tape, sure enough. 7.5 instead of 6.5 per step. We had to rip out the whole stair framing and redo it. Lost 2 days and about 3 grand in materials. Anyone else trust old field measurements over new site checks? I learned that lesson the hard way.

Denver slab was an inch tighter and nobody caught it until the drywall was already hung? That's wild, a full inch per step turns a normal stair into a ladder.
