Serious question, who else ditched the concrete slab for gravel and a shed frame?
Poured a 10x12 slab behind my garage in 2021 for a writing room. Cost me $1,400 and a weekend of misery with a rented mixer. Sold that place, moved to Bend, and now my whole studio sits on 4 inches of compacted gravel with pressure treated skids under it. Total cost was $180 and it went up in a day. Drainage is better, nothing cracks, and if I ever want to move it I just... move it. Half the folks I talk to act like you need a slab or the shed will sink into the earth. Mine has not moved an inch through two winters. What am I missing here, or is the slab thing just something people repeat because their dad did it?
