Rant: My neighbor's comment about my studio's roof pitch last Tuesday

He said 'that shallow angle is gonna hold snow all winter,' and I realized I'd never even considered the weather. Anyone else in a cold climate have to change their plans after building?

Wait, you built a studio without checking the snow load? That's kind of wild to me. I hope it holds up okay this year.

Had the same worry with my shed roof last winter. I added some extra two-by-six braces in the attic space before the first big storm. It held up fine, even with that wet heavy snow we got in January. Maybe something like that could help @quinn_kim45 if you're feeling nervous about it.

That "kind of wild" comment from quinn_kim45 hit me hard. I used to be that guy who just built stuff without thinking about snow or weather at all. My first shed had a flat roof because I liked the look. Didnt even cross my mind. Then we got a storm and the whole thing sagged in the middle. Had to tear it down and start over. Now I check everything twice. Snow load, wind load, all that boring stuff. It sucks but its way cheaper than fixing a collapsed roof.
