PSA: dropped $180 on a mini split for my 10x12 shed studio and the breaker pops every time the AC kicks on
Bought a 12k BTU mini split in April thinking I could just plug it in and be done, but I didn't check my panel first. The shed is on a 15 amp circuit that runs off the garage, so every time the compressor starts up the whole thing trips and my laptop shuts off mid session. Paid an electrician $340 to run a dedicated 20 amp line from the house, which I should have priced out before I bought the unit. Anyone else here running a sub panel out to their backyard build, and did you do it yourself or hire it out?
