Picked a 10x12 shed kit over building from scratch, saved $1,800 and my weekends
I went back and forth for two months on whether to frame my backyard studio myself or just order a 10x12 shed kit from a local place in Boise. The kit ran $3,200 while lumber and my own labor would've been around $5,000 and every Saturday for a month. I picked the kit and had the whole shell up with a buddy in one weekend, which gave me time to insulate and run power out there for my little recording setup. The walls are thinner than stick built, so next time I might frame one wall myself for sound reasons. Anyone here gone the kit route and regretted it, or added extra framing after the fact?
