I finally swapped out my old desk fan for a silent PC fan in my recording shed

After 2 years of fighting fan noise on my vocal takes, I spent $15 on a Noctua fan last month and wired it in myself, and now I can actually record without that constant hum in the background, has anyone else tried this mod for their booth?

Waste of money, your old desk fan probably worked fine if you just set it on low speed.

My old box fan rattled so bad I had to wedge a folded up magazine under one corner just to keep it from vibrating across the floor. Then one night the blades started making this horrible scraping noise and I woke up to a burning plastic smell. Some things are just past the point of no return, you know?

Oh sure, I remember when my neighbor tried that with his old metal desk fan. Thing shook so bad it walked right off the nightstand and knocked over his glass of sweet tea. Sometimes you just gotta buy a new one.
