Broke my guitar cable mid-jam and had to choose between a second-hand amp or a new interface

Last Saturday I was tracking a demo in my 8x10 shed studio in Columbus and my old interface just died on me. I had $250 in my pocket, and the pawn shop had a beat-up Fender amp for that price, but I really needed recording gear, not a louder practice tool. I went with a used Focusrite from Facebook Marketplace and now I can't stop second-guessing if I should've grabbed that amp instead, what would you have done?
