Watch your garage door springs before it gets cold, mine snapped last week
Last Tuesday around 6am I hit the opener and heard a loud bang, and the spring on my door had snapped in half after about 9 years of use. The door came down hard and I had to lift it by hand to get my truck out so I could get to work. A neighbor down the street had the same thing happen in January and ended up paying $340 for a same day fix. If yours is 7 or 8 years old, go look at it in the daylight before the cold hits, has anyone here replaced their own springs or is that one of those jobs you just don't touch?
