Vent: my neighbor keeps mowing his lawn down to the dirt and calling it a "low cut"
He set his deck to the lowest notch about 3 weeks ago and now half his backyard is brown patches. I measured it out of curiosity and he's cutting off close to 2 inches at a time, which is way past what cool season grass can handle in July. I know this because my dad ran a lawn crew in Dayton for 11 years and he drilled into me to never take more than a third of the blade off in one pass. The part that bugs me is he keeps blaming the heat and the seed, and he's already bought two bags of patch mix at $40 each. I tried saying something once and got the "I've been doing it this way forever" line. Am I off base here, or do I just let him figure it out on his own?
