Switched from a push mower to a cordless electric and wish I did it years ago
My old Toro push mower finally gave out after 12 years and I grabbed a Ryobi 40v from Home Depot last week. First time using it I cut the front yard in 20 minutes vs the usual 45. No pulling cords, no gas smell, and it's quiet enough to mow at 8am without the neighbors yelling at me. Anyone else made the switch and find it way better or am I just lucky with this one?

Yeah, "no cord pulling" is exactly what sold me on it. I had a gas mower that always took like three pulls to get going and then would die halfway through if I didn't let it warm up enough. The quiet part is huge too, I can mow early Sunday morning before it gets too hot and nobody complains. One thing I'd pass along though, make sure you keep the blade sharp on those electric ones. I noticed mine was tearing the grass instead of cutting it after a few months, a quick sharpen fixed it right up and the battery lasts longer when the blade is clean.

Jumped on the electric bandwagon last year and honestly I wish I'd done it sooner too. The quiet part is underrated, I can mow at 7am with no complaints vs my old gas mower that sounded like a dying lawn tractor. People act like electric mowers are just for hippies or something but they actually cut cleaner. Just gotta remember to charge the battery or you're the guy with a half mowed yard and a dead battery.
