Noticed my garage workbench got way cleaner after I swapped my pegboard for a french cleat system

I spent like 6 months with this pegboard setup I got from Home Depot for $30. My tools were always a mess and hooks kept falling off. Finally built a french cleat wall last weekend out of some scrap plywood I had sitting in the corner. The difference is night and day - everything has a spot now and I actually put stuff back because it's so easy. Took me about 4 hours total to cut and mount everything. Has anyone else made the switch and regretted not doing it sooner?

Dude yes, I did the exact same thing last year and it was a game changer for my little workshop area. I kept my pegboard for like two years before I finally ripped it down and honestly wish I had done it sooner. The best part for me was making custom holders for my drill and impact driver so they just slide right on and off without any fussing with hooks. Now I actually walk over and hang stuff up instead of just tossing it on the bench haha.

idk if you saw this already @milam42 but I read somewhere that the custom holders actually save like 30 seconds per tool grab, which adds up over a year. Made me rethink my whole setup honestly.
