I finally figured out why my garage light kept flickering for 2 years
Turns out I had the wrong gauge wire running to the switch. I was using 14 gauge on a 20 amp circuit for my workbench lights in Forsyth County. A buddy helping me move my drill press last weekend pointed it out and I felt like an idiot. Has anyone else had a simple electric fix that saved them a ton of headache?

Oh man, I read somewhere that most flickering lights are actually a loose neutral or wrong gauge wire. I think a lot of people make that mistake without realizing it. That's scary though, having 14 gauge on a 20 amp circuit, I heard that can cause the wire to overheat before the breaker trips. Good thing your buddy caught it before something started smoking.

Right? That whole loosy neutral thing gets people all the time. Good thing it got caught before the whole house went up.
