A neighbor's 30 second comment fixed my garage workbench lighting

I had two fluorescent fixtures buzzing over my bench for years and thought it was fine. My neighbor Bill, an electrician from Tacoma, stopped by and said "you're working in your own shadow, flip the lights 90 degrees." I mounted them parallel to the bench instead of perpendicular, now I can see what I'm actually doing when I sand or solder. Anyone else redo their garage layout over one small thing like that?
