Wasted $200 on a lightweight tent that leaked on my first trip in the Smokies last fall

Tbh I bought this fancy UL tent online without reading the reviews about seam sealing, and after a night of rain I woke up in a puddle. Has anyone else had a piece of gear totally fail on a trip?

Nora nailed it. I read somewhere that a lot of those budget ultralight tents skip the seam taping to save weight. Sounds like you got the full experience.
