PSA: I lost half a day on my loop because a trail was marked open online but actually washed out.
In my experience, those digital status updates can be way behind, so calling the ranger station saved my trip.

Honestly, hearing about a washed out trail still listed as open is shocking. Tbh, I once drove three hours to a park only to find the main path closed for repairs. Ngl, it feels like those sites never get updated after storms. Calling the ranger station is the only real way to know. Like, last month my friend got stuck because a bridge was out, but the app said all clear. It's a mess how unreliable this stuff is.
